Professor Ron Reed

Professor Ron Reed started Martial Arts training in 1967 in Naha, Okinawa, Japan, at the young age of 19, while stationed there in the US Army. He has trained from that time, to the present.

His first Sullivan School opened in 1983.

Professor Reed's Black Belt ranks are:
* Shoto-Jitsu - 10th Degree, Soke
* Ju-Jitsu - 6th Degree, Rokyudan
* Hapkido - 4th Degree
* Shotokan Karate -4th Degree
* Kempo Karate - 1st Degree

SOME OF PROFESSOR REED'S ACCOMPLISHMENTS

He was awarded the Professor title in the early 1990's.
He was listed in "Who's Who in American Martial Arts", 3rd Edition
Was awarded the Presidental Sports Award in 1993.
Founded His SHOTO-JITSU system in 1993. Shoto-Jitsu was trademarked and patented in1997.
Inducted in the United States Martial Arts Hall of Fame in 2000 as "Founder of the Year".
Nominated as "Grandmaster of the Year" for the United States Martial Arts Hall of Fame in 2002.
Is recognized as 10th Degree Soke through the World Combat Martial Arts Association and is also a lifetime member.
A member of, and recognized through, the North American Grandmasters' Council.
Is a member of the Pioneers & Legends International Martial Arts Society Hall of Fame.
Is a lifetime member of Nippon Ketsugo Kai, USA
A Charter Member of the International Federation of Ju-Jutsuans.
Past President of the Tri-State Regional Black Belt Association.
Past Indaina Regional Representative for the American Karate Association.
Past member of the Japanese Karate Association and the Okinawan Karate-Do Union.
Has instructed the Sullivan County Sheriffs Dept. in self-defense for several years.
Has instructed Seminars for the Vincennes University Law Enforcement Department.
Has promoted over 25 Open Karate Tournaments and 10 Full-Contact Kickboxing Events. Also, 4 three-day Training Camps.
Has given numerous Seminars, Clinics and Demonstrations through-out the Tri-State area.

Some of Professor Reed's instructors include Professor Larry Hilton, Ju-Jitsu; Master George Marsinko, Kempo & Hapkido; and Master Carl Leise, Shotokan Karate.
He has trained with Master Allen Wheeler, Master Joe Lewis, Master Bill Wallace, Master Tsai, Master George Dillman, Professor Wally Jay and Professor George Kirby, plus many others.
