The Illinois Central College (ICC) Hard Bop Jazz Band is the guest group for our April program. This outstanding jazz big band is directed by Larry Harms. In recent years, the ICC band has won several honors at college festivals. Vocalist Barry Moton recently received an Outstanding Soloist Award at the 2008 Elmhurst College Jazz Festival. The Band will also perform at several events in the area during April, as follows.
* Friday, April 18 at 7:00 p.m. at East Peoria Central Junior High School - Jazz CafÈ to benefit the music department; contact Valerie at 427-5254 for more information
* Friday, April 25 from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at the Five Spot (Contemporary Art Center), Peoria - as the featured act.

The Central Illinois Jazz Society House Band will perform during the middle set, under the leadership of Larry Harms. The CIJS House Band features outstanding jazz musicians from the area. They will entertain you with a mixture of jazz styles. This talented group is the heart of our monthly jazz offerings for the jazz fans of Central Illinois. We are grateful to them for their variety of live jazz offerings. Come out and support them and Live Jazz. Refreshments are available, as well as a special selection of food items and desserts from the Radisson menu. We thank the Radisson for hosting Live Jazz!
