Doug is a native Peorian, but has been living in Milwaukee for the last 15 years. He has been playing piano since the age of 7 and studied piano performance at Western Illinois University. He was also the co-founder and former President of the Central Illinois Jazz Society. He is still entrenched in the music business working as a Vice President of Hal Leonard Corporation, the world's largest print music publisher and also performs with jazz groups in the Milwaukee area.

Doug is excited about returning to perform for the Jazz Society and is bringing along some friends from Milwaukee, who also happen to be very accomplished players: Mark Solveson, on bass, and Eric Jacobson, on trumpet. Rounding out the quartet is a talented drummer, who is familiar to CIJS crowds, Tom Marko. Tom is jazz director at Illinois State University. The quartet will be performing a mix of standards, jazz classics and Latin pieces.

The Central Illinois Jazz Society House Band will perform during the middle set, under the leadership of Larry Harms. The CIJS House Band features outstanding jazz musicians from the area. They will entertain you with a mixture of jazz styles. This talented group is the heart of our monthly jazz offerings for the jazz fans of Central Illinois. We are grateful to them for their variety of live jazz offerings. Come out and support them.
