Johnny Slu's Dixie Daredevils is a Dixieland band that "plays without a net". The Daredevils will present music with a flair. If you know the musicians in the group, you understand the meaning of "without a net". They are all great musicians, who need no net and have a lot of fun while they are at it. John Sluzalis leads the group on drums. John A. "M.D." Miller is on bass, Charlie "Killer" Stokes is on piano, Tommy "Spike" Gleason is on
trumpet, Harlan "Mad Dog" Geiser is on trombone and Jimmie Walker is on clarinet.
The Dixie Daredevils are Central Illinois' premier Dixieland jazz band. They have performed regularly at the Central Illinois Jazz Festival in Decatur and are slated to appear again at next year's event. You will not want to miss a night of great Dixieland music and much fun with the Dixie Daredevils.
The Central Illinois Jazz Society House Band will perform during the middle set, under the leadership of Larry Harms. The CIJS House Band features outstanding jazz musicians from the area. They will entertain you with a
mixture of jazz styles. This talented group is the heart of our monthly jazz offerings for the jazz fans of Central Illinois. We are grateful to them for their variety of live jazz offerings. Come out and support them and Live Jazz.
