The Bradley University Jazz Ensemble, under the direction of Dr. Todd Kelly, is the flagship ensemble of the Bradley University Jazz Program. During the summer of 2003, the Ensemble performed at Disney Paris, the Vienne Jazz Festival, the Brienz Jazz Festival and the Montreux Jazz Festival in Switzerland. This summer, they are going to Europe for a 15-day tour that includes France, Switzerland and Italy. The tour includes a return to the prestigious Montreux Jazz Festival and other festivals.
Bradley will also host the Bradley University Jazz Festival on Tuesday, February 28. The festival will feature guest artist Chris Vadala, on sax. Chris performed with Chuck Mangione and is currently the Director of Jazz at
the University of Maryland. For more information about the festival, contact Dr. Todd Kelly at 677-2597. The Bradley Jazz Ensemble has won numerous awards at college jazz festivals and you will not want to miss this
great group.
The Central Illinois Jazz Society House Band will perform during the middle set, under the leadership of Larry Harms. The CIJS House Band features outstanding jazz musicians from the area. They will entertain you with a
mixture of jazz styles. This talented group is the heart of our monthly jazz offerings for the jazz fans of Central Illinois. We are grateful to them for their variety of live jazz offerings. Come out and support them and Live Jazz.
