Daniel Leahy's talents are not easily classified - in addition to his outstanding performances as a pianist and vocalist, he is a gifted musical arranger and producer. Daniel is currently producing a 4-season compilation package on CDs. He has completed the Winter Sleigh Ride CD and is working on the release of the Autumn Serenade CD. The Daniel Leahy Autumn Serenade Project will present songs from his Autumn Serenade CD during their March appearance at the Central Illinois Jazz Society. Daniel leads the group on piano and vocals. Joining him are Dave Hoffman on trumpet and flugelhorn, Mike Nellas on guitar, Manuel Lopez III on percussion, Ronald Wilson on upright bass, in addition to a saxophonist. This is an extremely talented group of musicians that will provide a great evening of jazz.
The Central Illinois Jazz Society House Band will perform during the middle set, under the leadership of Larry Harms. The CIJS House Band features outstanding jazz musicians from the area. They will entertain you with a mixture of jazz styles. This talented group is the heart of our monthly jazz offerings for the jazz fans of Central Illinois. We are grateful to them for their variety of live jazz offerings. Come out and support them.
