The Jane Hartman Trio returns to perform for the Central Illinois Jazz Society. Jane leads the trio on piano and vocals. Gene Haas has been bassist with the trio since 1987. Brian Justison is the drummer for this talented trio. The trio most recently fronted for John Pizzarelli, both performing for Summer Fun and All That Jazz.

Jane is an accomplished jazz musician with a heart for music in all its stylistic expressions from Classical to Jazz, Latin to Blues, Rock to Gospel. She most recently toured England with the Fleming Academy as guest soloist and has produced 3 CD's, the latest of which is entitled "Rediscovered Treasures." She is Associate Professor of Music at Lincoln Land Community College and continues performing with Riverboat 5+1, and The Grateful Bread Band at First Christian Church.

Gene Haas is retired from Lincoln Land Community College, where he was professor of Music Theory and Jazz Band and holds the title of Professor Emeritus. He has been conductor of the Springfield Municipal Band since 1978 and has done numerous arrangements for the band. He led the Municipal Band on a concert tour of Austria in 1990, performing in Vienna, Salsburg, and at the American Music Festival in Graz.

Brian Justison is Assistant Professor of Music and Coordinator of Percussion Studies at Millikin University. His performance credits include the Illinois Symphony and Chamber Orchestras, Canadian Brass, and the Brass of Illinois. He has also performed with a variety of leading jazz, Latin, and pop artists, including Gene Bertoncini, Brian Bromberg, Warren Chiasson, Jeremy Davenport, Dardanelle, Cathy Garcia, John McNeil, and Marcus Roberts.

The Central Illinois Jazz Society House Band will perform during the middle set, under the leadership of Larry Harms. The CIJS House Band features outstanding jazz musicians from the area. They will entertain you with a mixture of jazz styles. This talented group is the heart of our monthly jazz offerings for the jazz fans of Central Illinois. We are grateful to them for their variety of live jazz offerings. Come out and support them. .
