Song stylist Rachael Lee has been entertaining audiences in the Central Illinois area for over 30 years. In addition, she has performed at festivals throughout the United States, Canada and Japan. She has appeared on two occasions at the Watterabe Jazz Festival in Ashikaga, Japan.
Joining Rachael are Terry Brennan on piano, John Sluzalis on drums, Perry Rask on sax and John Miller on bass. Rachael and the Jazz Express will present jazz standards along with a few blues. Those who have heard Rachael will not want to miss this program. Rachael Lee and the Jazz Express will also perform at the Central Illinois Jazz Festival, which will be held in Decatur, January 21, 22 and 23, 2005. We all look forward to having Rachael back as our featured guest, along with the outstanding musicians of the Jazz Express.
The Central Illinois Jazz Society House Band will perform during the middle set, under the leadership of Larry Harms. The CIJS House Band features outstanding jazz musicians from the area. They will entertain you with a mixture of jazz styles. This talented group is the heart of our monthly jazz offerings for the jazz fans of Central Illinois. We are grateful to them for their variety of live jazz offerings. Come out and support them.
