117 N. Western Ave., PeoriaThe Dave Hoffman Sixtet features an excellent lineup of well-know musicians from the Central Illinois area. Dave Hoffman leads the group on trumpet and flugelhorn. Other members of the sextet include Mike Nellas on guitar, Andy Crawford on bass, Tom Marko on drums, Kevin Hart on vibes, and Doug Stone on sax.
Dave has pulled together an extremely talented group to play mostly "originals", written by Dave. Dave will also provide interesting insights as to how his songs were named. Those who have attended previous programs know how talented Dave is as a writer and as a performer. He also plans to present some songs from his soon to be released CD. The sextet will also play some standards, plus Latin and Brazilian songs.
Dave has performed frequently with the Central Illinois Jazz Society House Band and as a guest performer. He has performed with the Ray Charles Band throughout the world. In recent years he was living in the San Diego area and has now returned to the Central Illinois area. We all welcome him back. Don't miss this program. .The Central Illinois Jazz Society House Band, featuring outstanding jazz musicians from the area, will entertain you with a mixture of jazz styles. This talented and versatile group, led by Larry Harms, is the heart of our monthly jazz program for the jazz fans of Central Illinois.
