The Central Illinois Jazz Society presents
Swing Daddies
6:00 & 8:30 p.m.
Sunday, February 16, 2003
Jumer's Castle Lodge (in the Mozart Room), Peoria
The Swing Daddies are led by Dan Diefendorf and have been together for about 2 years. Dan plays drums and is joined by Cassie Hart on sax, Kevin Hart on organ/bass, and Andy Crawford on guitar. The Swing Daddies will present mainly straight-ahead jazz, along with a few contemporary jazz tunes.
The Swing Daddies strive to present tunes that are fun to perform, resulting in a group that is fun to listen to. They are a good grooving band with great musicians that you can expect to see a lot more of in the area. They performed at the Miller Midwest Jazz Festival in 2002, and appear at Martini's on Water Street, the Rhythm Kitchen, and other private functions. They are scheduled to appear at Martini's on February 21.The Central Illinois Jazz Society House Band, featuring outstanding jazz musicians from the area, will entertain you with a mixture of jazz styles. This talented and versatile group, led by Larry Harms, is the heart of our monthly jazz program for the jazz fans of Central Illinois. We are grateful to the House Band for their variety of live jazz offerings. Come out and support them - you'll enjoy it.
