The Kevin Hart Quintet will present classic, Latin, contemporary, and original jazz at our October program. Kevin Hart leads the group on vibes. Joining Kevin are Mike Nellas on guitar, Tim Brickner on bass, Jeff Magby on drums, and Dean Klinker on percussion.
The Kevin Hart Quintet is influenced by the sounds of Milt Jackson, Wes Montgomery, and many other legendary jazz musicians. Kevin Hart's various groups have been performing fresh arrangements of classic, contemporary, Latin, and original jazz throughout Illinois since 1993. Their many performances include the CEFCU Stage Concert Series, Peoria Jazz Heritage Festival, Rootabaga Jazz Fest, Viva Chicago, Central Illinois Jazz Society, Taste of Peoria, and Sounds of Summer (Urbana). The Quintet has been featured for interviews and performances on WGLT 89.1 and WILL 90.9. Kevin's Latin Jazz Quintet released a CD in 1996 entitled "Corazon.".The Central Illinois Jazz Society House Band, featuring outstanding jazz musicians from the area, will entertain you with a mixture of jazz styles. This talented and versatile group, led by Larry Harms, is the heart of our monthly jazz program for the jazz fans of Central Illinois. We are grateful to the House Band for their variety of live jazz offerings. Come out and support them - you'll enjoy it.
