The Central Illinois Jazz Society presents
Carl Anderson New Orleans Jazz Band
6:00 - 9:30 p.m.
Sunday, May 19, 2002
Jumer's Castle Lodge (in the Mozart Room), Peoria

Carl Anderson is the leader of this group of great musicians. Carl formed the New Orleans Jazz Band to help preserve traditional jazz. His band is all about keeping those great tunes alive, reaching back to capture our true jazz heritage, and passing it along to the next generation, some of which is contained in the band. The band includes Carl and Andrew Brady on trombone, Doug Myers on trumpet, Lance Dieckow on banjo, John Larson on drums, Denny Schielein on piano, Billy Sutton on bass, and Craig Bullis on clarinet.

The New Orleans Jazz Band has recorded a CD, which will be available at our program. Be sure to come and hear them perform some traditional jazz. The tunes will include things such as Struttin'with Some Bar-B-Q, Basin Street Blues, St. James Infirmary, and other favorites. They will also include some vocals along with their instrumentals. It will be a fun night. Tell a friend about it so they can also enjoy the program.

The Central Illinois Jazz Society House Band, featuring outstanding jazz musicians from the area, will entertain you with a mixture of jazz styles. This talented and versatile group, led by Larry Harms, is the heart of our monthly jazz program for the jazz fans of Central Illinois. We are grateful to them for their variety of live jazz offerings. Come out and support them - you'll enjoy it.
