Barb Boyles - Touch of Jazz last performed at the Jazz Society about 2 years ago. Barb, a vocalist, originally pulled the group together about 7 years ago. She has performed throughout the area for more than 25 years with Roman Paul (Wegrzyn). Roman joins the group on piano. The group includes Larry Harms on sax, Bill Sutton on bass, and Dan Diefendorf on drums. Kevin Hart, on vibes, will be the featured artist with the group.
Barb plans to feature selections from Cole Porter and George Gershwin. She also plans to blend in some Latin sounds, along with a lot of jazz standards. Invite a friend so they can also enjoy the evening of jazz. Jazz fans of the area recognize these musicians as among the most talented jazz musicians in the area. Come hear them and have a great evening of jazz.
The Central Illinois Jazz Society House Band, featuring outstanding jazz musicians from the area, will also entertain you with a mixture of jazz styles. This talented group is led by Larry Harms and is the heart of our monthly jazz offerings for the jazz fans of Central Illinois. We are grateful to them for their variety of live jazz offerings. Come out and support them.
The Central Illinois Jazz Society is a non-profit organization that is open to anyone who enjoys jazz. You do not have to be a musician to be a member or to attend our programs. The purpose of the organization is to further the appreciation of jazz among residents of Central Illinois.
