Diversity is a group of very skilled musicians. They named themselves Diversity because of the "diverse" styles of music that they are able to perform. They will present a mix of jazz, R & B, ballads, and standards. The group consists of Billy Rogers as vocalist, John Sluzalis on drums, Perry Rask on sax, Tom Gleason on trumpet, Harlan Geiser on trombone, Terry Brennan on keyboards, Andy Burtchi on bass, and Frank Huston on guitar. For those who attend Jazz Society programs regularly, you will recognize a lot of these names.

Diversity will leave July 31 for Japan as a part of an exchange program with the Japanese Sister City of Springfield, Illinois. This is quite an honor for the group to represent Springfield. The members of Diversity are all from Central Illinois, residing in the Bloomington, Decatur and Springfield areas. Don't miss this program. It is one you are sure to enjoy. The Central Illinois Jazz Society House Band, featuring outstanding jazz musicians from the area, will entertain you with a mixture of jazz styles. This talented group is led by Larry Harms and is the heart of our monthly jazz offerings for the jazz fans of Central Illinois. We are grateful to them for their variety of live jazz offerings. Come out and support them.

The Central Illinois Jazz Society is a non-profit organization that is open to anyone who enjoys jazz. You do not have to be a musician to be a member or to attend our programs. The purpose of the organization is to further the appreciation of jazz among residents of Central Illinois.
